poetry

Roses 12

Warped into memory,

baby steps of the past,

 racing thoughts recycled,

  fearless gestures forgotten.

             Time ticks evenly,

             whispering hearts,

             crushed beneath progress,

             platitudes of faith.

When I start reading,

You flip the page,

current of intentions,

 pushed against space.

              Taunting smiles chase,

              the tears of reality.

              as gaze meets the wind,

              and platonic mockery shifts.

  Eyes of a champion

  flickering deception of wits,

  abandoning self realization,

    befriending an illusion.

            Grasping angels by the night,

             truth in the shadows

             teachings of a child,

              only engraved in clouds.
